Come and go

Waves, sea, rock

You came and went
and sometimes I believed
that you would only come
and never go away

And suddenly I understood
that coming here and going there
are one and the same, of course,
that no one comes or goes

That I’m the space in which
the coming and the going passes
That I’m not that what comes and goes
that I am that what is …

Monument

For Sam

Poem for Sam, my little puppydog, died on May 5th.

The stones that were layed out
for me by the deep sea
They softly form the forms
that need to be there now

Untill the sea will take
what no one ever had
Like we will ever go
to where we never were

Goodbye my little Sam
goodbye my little flash
you came as rustlewind
And went as dapplewaves

The sea takes all your forms
to caring deepest depths
like you take me still with you
to where no depth exist …

for Sam

Lovestory

You never ever hurt me
Although I did believe that
What I told me about you
That hurt-ed so intense

Now finally all my stories
Returned to where they came from
And warm light winds start whispering
The new ones in my ears

Soft rains fall now upon me
And cherish and caress me
And new words gentle land
In open fertile soil …

Seeds

Seeds

The seeds that look like words
put down in you so gently

Are waiting for the wind and clouds,
the snow, the hail and frost.

The shell is hard and takes its time
and waits for what’s in store

and suddenly there bursts
what was concealed inside

and that will find its way
in your infinity …

Dying

Dying

Summer dies to fall and leaves the warmth behind
Sometimes there is a touch of summer still on a warm day
And then at last she breathes her last breath

Fall in her restlesness
sweeps branches and cuts trees
So glad that now the storm can have its life
and she can show off all her splendid colours

Then on her cold bleak feet winter blizzards in
And rests upon all creatures of the earth

When spring comes and the buds unfold
the circle round, and again
life unfolds,
life feeds on life,
everything dies to everything
again, and again, and again …
