Climb

Climb

In the still, dew-filled morning we climbed
Bushes, teasing butterflies,
Hidden pathways, elusive waterfalls
Gorges, falling rocks
Higher we go, higher and higher
To the edge.
When we arrive
Sun on our faces
Moss under our feet
A wonderous sight.
We know we must return
Knowing it was worth the climb
We know we never left …
